pentart Fineline Crackle 2 Part Varnish 100ml
Fineline Crackle Varnish is a water based 2 part medium, allowing you to create that fine line crazing typically seen in vintage and antique porcelain pieces.
Application
To apply be sure your surface is completely dry. Using a clean dry brush, brush on component 1 and let dry completely. Once dry apply component 2. The amount, depth, and pattern network of cracks depends on the thickness of the layers and technique of application. When the second layer is dry your piece will appear transparent and glossy, however it will not be waterproof. This is a good time to apply Antique Paste or Liquid Patina. This will highlight the cracks and your piece that aged appearance. It is now important to seal your work with a solvent-based varnish like pentart Solvent Glossy Varnish, which will protect your work and prevent further cracking.
If applying over a transfer be sure your transfer is completely adhered to the piece you are working on to be sure you do not have any lifting.
